Our Purpose
To empower riders, makers, and creators by providing exceptional products and expert service—honoring the legacy of craftsmanship while embracing the evolving needs of today’s equestrian and leatherworking communities. We exist to fuel the passion for the sport and the art of leatherwork, combining tradition with innovation.
Our Story
Founded in 1970 by Lalin, a Cuban craftsman with a lifelong dedication to leatherwork and equestrian equipment, our company has grown into one of the leading suppliers of leather goods and tack in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. From a young age, Lalin specialized in crafting saddles and horse gear, and his expertise laid the foundation for a business built on quality, tradition, and a passion for the sport. Lalín’s, our flagship store, has a long-standing tradition in the equestrian world. It offers a curated selection of equipment, apparel, and accessories for a variety of disciplines—including Western, English, Jumping, and Paso Fino—sourced from leading brands in the U.S., South America, and Europe. We proudly carry saddles and tack made in-house at Lalín’s, known for their durability and craftsmanship, alongside high-performance gear from top international manufacturers. To meet the growing needs of the leatherworking community, Cueros y Pieles was established in 1995. This second store focuses on raw materials and tools for leather artisans, designers, and saddlers. With a wide range of premium leathers, hardware, dyes, and treatments, it serves as a vital resource for creative professionals and small businesses across the region. Still operated by the family today, the business continues to pass on its values and expertise from generation to generation.
